Three guide dots in North margin near the North West corner; 1 guide dot North East of the North East corner; small dash running North West and South East between the West frame lines opposite the top of the North West "8"; moving position or travelling well North of the line drawn East and West through the centre of the East oval ornament; main position dot is oval North West and South East clearly North centre partly on the East; after the plate was in use some time an irregular shaped flaw developed a little North West of the point of the shoulder. (Note: This flaw is known as the burr-on-the-shoulder variety. Senator Calder's plating copy does not have this variety.)
Kershaw's notes
23a The central guide dot outside the LH frame is positioned slightly above the horizontal guide line. The short transfer is quite weak. 46d There is an extremely faint short transfer along the right centre lower frame. The centre dot is above the horizontal guide line.
Morel's notes
The example from an early stage does not show the burr. This is a top row as shown by the margin dots. A pair of dots just above the left frame, and a 3rd dot above stg. A dash in the left margin, left of the top left 8 is found (also on pos 17 and 27). The travelling dot is well to the right of the face.
