Calder's notes
Guide line in the South margin; 3 small dots or dashes in the turned up limb of the foot of the "E" in "Postage" main position dot slightly North centre nearly full towards East. Note: It is believed that the additional notation "scratch on nose" was added by a subsequent owner as it does not seem to be in Senator Calder's hand.
Kershaw's notes
The cheek dot is on the last final dashed vertical line (pg. 191). There is a strong guide dot outside the LL corner and a series of tool marks on the "E" of 'POSTAGE".
Morel's notes
Position dot on cheek, 3 vertical lines in "E" of Postage and a guide dot below left "17". There is also an oblique scratch from NW to SE on nose (see orange box on stamp image ) as well as oblique lines through G of postage and also in bottom margin, below the TE of seventeen.

Stamps from printing orders 1 to 5A were perf. 11.75, stamps from printing orders 5B to 7 were perf. 12 x 11.75 and those from printing orders 8 to 12 were perf. 12.
